The CRM-geothermal factsheet on the Fluid Atlas has been launched!

The Fluid Atlas is an open-access, web-based mapping platform that brings geothermal, geochemical, and geological data together in a spatially integrated form across Europe and Eastern Africa. Its aim is to make complex information accessible, transparent, and comparable by placing it in a clear geographic context.
The platform lets users:
– Explore the spatial distribution of geothermal wells and systems
– Examine fluid chemistry, gas compositions, rock samples, and mineral scales
– Identify regions enriched in elements critical for modern technologies
– Compare geothermal fluids across volcanic regions, sedimentary basins, and rift-related systems
– Download harmonised, georeferenced datasets (no registration required).

It is built entirely on open-source components (MySQL, Leaflet, open formats like JSON and GeoJSON) and follows FAIR data principles, ensuring datasets are findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. No commercial software, paid APIs, or subscriptions are needed to access or operate the platform.
Beyond research, the Atlas supports early-stage resource evaluation, education and training, and evidence-based decision-making on the potential of geothermal fluids as sources of critical raw materials.
